The Story of Dale’s Seasoning

Originally created as the house marinade for Dale’s Cellar restaurant in 1946, it quickly became a hit with customers and has been a kitchen staple ever since. More than just a marinade, our fans use it for sauces, salad dressings and everything in between.

 

Our founder, Jake Levine, was a true pioneer in the restaurant industry. As he expanded the original Dale’s Cellar restaurant to nine total locations around the south, he introduced many innovative concepts to the restaurant scene, such as an open kitchen. Meanwhile, customers couldn’t get enough of our flavorful seasoning. Our earliest patrons requesting the signature sauce to-go could only be accommodated by filling a soda bottle! It wasn’t long before Estelle Silverstein, another early founder, expanded distribution and created the manufacturing framework that is still in place today.
