Smoky Jalapeño Margarita

Ingredients
  • 3 slices fresh jalapeño pepper
  • 1 juicy lime, halved, divided
  • 1 tsp. Dale’s Smokehouse BBQ Rub seasoning blend, divided
  • 2 oz. limeade
  • 1 ½ oz. reposado tequila
  • 1 Tbsp. green jalapeno pepper jelly 
  • Club soda, if desired
Directions
  1. Cut a slice from one of the halves of lime and set aside with one slice of jalapeño. Use the slice of lime to moisten the rim of a cocktail glass, reserving the slice of lime. Place ¾ teaspoon of Dale’s Smokehouse BBQ Rub seasoning blend on a plate and coat the rim of the glass in the seasoning. Set glass aside while you prepare the cocktail.
  2.  Add 2 slices of jalapeño pepper, half of the lime, and remaining ¼ teaspoon Dale’s Smokehouse BBQ Rub seasoning blend to a cocktail shaker. Muddle the ingredients to release the flavor of the jalapeño and the lime and its juice. Add the limeade, tequila, pepper jelly and ice cubes to the shaker.
  3. Place the lid on the cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Fill the prepared cocktail glass with fresh ice and strain the contents of the shaker into the glass. 
  4. Top with a splash of club soda if desired, and garnish the glass with the reserved lime slice and jalapeno slice. Enjoy!
